Leather Factory USA started with a simple frustration: good leather jackets were either priced out of reach or made so cheaply they fell apart in a season. We wanted something in between — real leather, cut properly, fitted to the person wearing it, at a price that makes sense.
So that's what we build. Every jacket on this site is made to order in our own workshop. Nothing sits on a warehouse shelf waiting for you. When you place an order and confirm your measurements, our team cuts, stitches and finishes your jacket from scratch.
How your jacket is made
It starts with the hide. We work with three leathers, and each one has a job:
- Cowhide — heavy, tough and abrasion-resistant. The one for riders and anyone who wants a jacket that will outlast them.
- Sheepskin — softer and lighter, with a natural grain that ages beautifully.
- Lambskin — the softest of the three. Smooth, light and close to a second skin.
Each hide is checked before it's cut. Panels are pattern-cut, stitched, lined and fitted with hardware, then the finished jacket gets a final inspection before it ships.
Why made to order
Off-the-rack sizing never fits everyone. Making each jacket after you order means we can work to your measurements, and it means we never overproduce. It takes a little longer — usually 7–14 business days to your door — but you get a jacket made for you, not pulled from a pile.
